About Our Club
Royton Road Runners was formed in 2003 with 27 founder members. Just 10 runners braved a snowy February night for the very first club run from Royton Cricket Club.
After the Amateur Athletics Association accepted us as an affiliated club on 18th July 2003, club colours were officially worn for the first time in that year's Tour of Tameside.
Since then the club has gone from strength to strength, now boasting more than 125 members, thriving road race & RRR Cup competitions & a popular annual trail race.
In February 2013 & 2023, to mark our 10th & 20th anniversaries, members old & new assembled at Royton Cricket Club to recreate the original club run - this time without snow!
In February 2023 we also recreated the original club photo with many of our founding members - still looking good after 20 years!
